Head of Al Ahly’s medical staff, Dr. Ahmed Abu Abla spoke about the efforts of Al Ahly’s medical staff in the past period.
In his interview with Al Ahly’s official website, Abu Abla talked about the hard work of Al Ahly’s medical staff to prepare the players, adding that all players are ready to face FC Bayern Munich.
“Everyone in the medical staff works hard to prepare the injured players in the best possible manner in order for them to be ready to help the team. We have several meetings with Al Ahly’s manager, Pitso Mosimane, and Al Ahly’s Director of Football, Sayed Abdelhafiz, during which we prepare for the team’s upcoming games from a medical standpoint.”
“We managed to prepare Mohamed Hany and Hussein El Shahaat for Al Ahly’s match against Al-Duhail SC. Both players were able to participate normally in the match.”
“Al Ahly’s defender, Badr Benoun, picked up an injury before the match, yet we dealt with it very well and he also played in our first match in the tournament against Al-Duhail SC.”
Moreover, Al Ahly’s physiotherapist, Dr. Mohamed Wafaay talked about the efforts of the team’s medical staff to prepare Benoun for Al-Duhail’s game.
“We worked very hard to prepare Benoun for the game. The team’s medical staff kept working with him until the day before the match. Benoun underwent a medical test during the team’s last training session and passed it successfully.”
“El Shahaat and Hany also had a similar situation, as they were both injured before the team’s trip to Qatar. We planned out a recovery program for both of them, which lasted for three days. After that, they gradually joined the team’s training sessions.”
“As for Walid Soliman, he is very close to joining the team’s full training sessions. Soliman is expected to be back within three weeks.”
“We felt that it would be better not to let Walid participate in the FIFA Club World Cup and to avoid any risks, especially that he has a hamstring injury. Such injury requires that the player clearly recovers from it, in order to avoid it from occurring once again.”
“Therefore, we told Al Ahly’s coaching staff that he won’t be able to play in the tournament, given that his injury requires him to be out for at least six weeks.”
Additionally, Al Ahly’s physiotherapist, Dr. AbdelMeged Ibrahim Amin stated that Al Ahly’s medical staff exerts a lot of effort to prepare the players for Al Ahly’s busy schedule.
“We prepare the players by following the most advanced technologies in the club. Al Ahly’s board of directors, headed by President Mahmoud El-Khatib provides their full support on all levels.”
“Al Ahly players perform their recovery programs while paying great attention to details. They are very cooperative with us.”
“All the intensive recovery sessions and programs that our players performed before our first match in the FIFA Club World against Al-Duhail SC were of great worth as El Shahaat and Hany participated in the match. In addition to Benoun, who was fit and participated in the game despite picking up an injury two days before the match.”
